IMBA Trail Care Crew comes to Reno

The Poedunks and Reno were selected as a location for the 2014 nationwide tour of the Subaru / IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) Trail Care Crew.  These crews of trail experts have been traveling the country helping to teach volunteers and land managers about sustainable trail building, promoting access for mountain bikers and helping foster positive relationships between groups and land managers.  We will be hosting them the weekend of November 1-2.  Saturday evening we will hold a totally fun night ride and costume contest, meeting at the East Keystone Trailhead at 5:45, group ride leaves at 6pm.  Jet Lites will have some demo lights available on a first come first served basis.  The ride will tour some of the newer trails on Peavine including Halo, Crispy Bacon, and Poedunk trail with amazing views of the city lights. A longer option may be available. Snacks and libations will be served afterward.

On Sunday, November 2 we will host their Trail Building School teaching techniques for building fun and sustainable singletrack.  The classroom session will be at the Main Ranch House at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, 1595 N. Sierra St, Reno, NV  89503.  Class starts at 9am.  Lunch will be provided.  After lunch, the group will relocate to the field session, building a new connector trail near Keystone Canyon.
